REAL MADRID HELD AT HOME BY OSASUNA BUT GO TOP OF LA LIGA
Real Madrid 0-0 Osasuna: Carlo Ancelotti’s men failed to extend their lead at the top of the table after a goalless draw with spectators after winning the first point at the Bernabeu since 2005.
- Real Madrid drew 0-0 with Osasuna on Wednesday evening
After being relatively calm in the first half, the action increases after the half time interval
Osasuna came closest to scoring, Moncayola hitting the post
Benzema came close to breaking the stalemate when he hit the bar
Talking point – La Liga can hardly be difficult this season
One point was enough to bring Real Madrid back to the top of La Liga, but the Spanish top flight could hardly be difficult this season. Real Madrid, Sevilla, Real Betis and Real Sociedad are tied on the same number of points (21) with only four points in the top eight. The quality at the top of La Liga may be a bit low, but the drama certainly isnāt.

Real Madrid remain top of La Liga, but now have just three points apart from the top seven after a draw against Osasuna.
In a goalless draw Osasuna scored a rare point at the Bernabeu – their first on the iconic La Liga field for 16 years.
Dani Carvajal said: “Barcelona lost so we wanted to take advantage but it was not possible.
Madrid have been in the game since Sunday’s Clasico win, and before the kick-off they received news that Barcelona had failed to win their first away match of the season.
But Osasuna has so far been pushing for a surprise package and a top spot among those seven teams. They burst Madridās bubble in the first half and reduced their chances to half and long shots.
And at the restart they almost took the lead but Chimi Avila’s great run and Jon Moncayola’s shot from the cross came out of the post.
Madrid brought Rodrigo to the break and he broke right from Vinicius’ pass and it took too long for Vinicius to finish.
Benzema was next to Sergio Herrera with a shot clipped over the crossbar. Assisted the Frenchman from Vinicius then wide shot.
With 20 minutes left, Carlo Ancelotti breaks with Eden Hazard, Marcelo and Lucas Vazquez.
But Osasuna’s resolve was not weakened and there was no way for Madrid to resist all attempts by David Garcia to penetrate the target. Rodrigo played a clever one-two in the Osasuna area but Marcelo pulled the shot wide.
Manuel Pellegrini’s Betis beat Valencia, leaving second-placed Sevilla and Minos Reo behind, after their famous win over Barcelona. Ronald Koeman’s team is starting to move fast.
“We’ve lost players and we’re not very effective without them,” Koeman said. ‘It counts for a lot.’
Asked if his team could still win the title, he said: “There are still a lot of games left. We’re worried about how effective it is, but not the way we’re playing. ”
Atletico Madrid will play Levante on Thursday and if they win the game, it could be equal to Real Madrid’s points. Real Sociedad will be three points ahead of Setla Vigo on Thursday.
MAN OF THE MATCH – CASEMIRO (REAL MADRID)
Although a number of Osasuna officers may have been satisfied with their performance they took the lead from the Santago Bernabeu with a point for their effort, Casimiro was the best player on the pitch. The Brazilian held the whole for Real Madrid in midfield and even found an amazing striking net from many halfway lines. Casimiro Los Blancos is a platform religion. It wasnāt her beauty that made them the most profitable.
