Maggots unite as Slipknot skins are now available in SMITE!

Maggots unite as Slipknot skins are now available in SMITE!

Apparently masked rocker Slipknot has decided to do everything with Web3 and their latest collaboration is to bring their iconic look to the popular MOBA SMITE: Battleground of the Gods from the high-res studio. Slipknot fans, affectionately known as “The Maggots”, can now combine playing as their favorite member of the legendary Nu-Metal band as three different deities each taking on three playable characters as alternate skins.

Playing as Poseidon, players have a choice between # 8 vocalist – Corey Taylor, # 0 DJ – Sid Wilson, or # 5 keyboard/sampler – Craig Wilson, better known to fans as 133.

To play as a guitarist for Slipknot, you’ll want to use Chaac, which has skin # 4 guitarist – Jim Root, # 7 guitarist – Mick Thompson, or bassist – Alessandro Venturella.

Finally, to play as Slipknot’s percussion squad, you’ll want to play the character of Raijin, whose skin is a drummer – J. Weinberg, percussionist – Michael Faff, and # 6 percussionist – Shawn Crahan, better known to fans as the Clown.

This battle animation looks incredible. It’s one thing to see Chaac’s ax turn into a bad guitar, but the Tyco drums that summon the whole drum kit with the immediately recognized Tribal S logo in the sky above are a great sweet look. This could be one of the best collaborations I’ve ever seen with a rock band.

As a big Slipknot fan, this collaboration may be enough to get you back to SMITE for the first time in almost 3 years. What do you think? Stupid cash-grab? Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Avatar: The Last Airbender, and even Bob Ross are some of the SMITE’s kind of acquaintances for having really great collaborative skins! Is anyone else thinking of going back (or jumping) to SMITE now that these slipknot skins are available?
